MIOS is currently on view at ATRA Form Gallery, presented alongside works by Alexander Díaz Andersson.
Founded by Díaz Andersson, ATRA is a design and architectural practice based between Mexico City, Los Angeles, and New York. Over the past 12 years, the studio has expanded to encompass architectural design, furniture, collectible design, and wellness technology. Its work explores form and function through references including Fibonacci sequences, NASA prototypes, Japanese Metabolism, and Blade Runner.
The ATRA Form gallery, a ground-floor space just north of Hudson Square, presents key works from the studio’s portfolio and marks a temporary New York exhibition open through June 2026.
Within this environment, MIOS presents a collection of sculptural lighting and objects, featuring hand-blown custom glass elements set atop ceramic bases.
Each piece begins as a digital study of form and is brought to life through additive ceramic printing, where it is continuously shaped by hand. Working across terracotta, porcelain, and stoneware, the studio produces works that balance structure with intuition, and precision with material expression.
Across collections, forms move between tightly structured surfaces and more open, looping textures. Each piece is shaped by hand to establish rhythm, depth, and variation within the material. While some works echo the logic of woven structures, others emphasize softness and movement—creating a measured contrast between control and release.
