The STUDIO
MIOS (Made In Our Studio) is a New York–based sculptural lighting and object studio. The studio creates ceramic pieces that balance material warmth with considered form, merging contemporary tools with hands-on craft.
Founded by Ukrainian artist Renata G. and team, MIOS approaches each piece as a conversation between hand, material, and process. Forms are first designed and digitally modeled, then brought to life in ceramic clay through additive printing techniques, hand finishing, glazing, and kiln firing. The result is work that feels both intentional and human—objects shaped as much by touch and intuition as by design.
The studio’s aesthetic, New Mid Century, carries forward the spirit of 20th-century reinvention into the present day. Drawing on Renata’s background in painting and sculpture, MIOS pieces are guided by sensitivity to proportion, surface, and balance. Unexpected outcomes are embraced, allowing each object to evolve naturally through making.
THE PROCESS
Working primarily in-house allows MIOS to remain closely connected to every stage of production. Clay is chosen for its depth, permanence, and ability to age gracefully over time. Each piece is finished by hand, produced on demand, and crafted to endure—conceived as collectible design that can live comfortably in residential, gallery, and hospitality environments.
The studio favors thoughtful fabrication over mass production, with close oversight of quality and material performance. By keeping process local and intentional, MIOS ensures that every work reflects care, longevity, and respect for the material.
